Surfers is a restaurant and meeting place where we, with great reverence and humility, strive to understand and welcome you to one of the world’s oldest culinary cultures, the Chinese. But Surfers is above all a journey of love and life that began as a surf bar almost 20 years ago in what we sometimes call ‘Limestone Hawaii,’ hence the name. Today, we remain at our original address, in more or less our original outfit, which is an achievement we are incredibly proud and grateful for. Surfers has taken various forms but retained the same soul on Regeringsgatan and in Humlegården, and now you can find us here, at Norrlandsgatan 24! Where the journey will take us in the future, we do not yet know; we’re just riding the wave and welcoming you to come along.

This is just as true in the tropical, chili-loving Sichuan as it is among the yaks on the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. The same goes for the cumin-scented Muslim deserts along the Silk Road in Xinjiang, or along the coasts with seafood feasts in cities like Shanghai and Hong Kong. So let the journey begin!
We would like to recommend that you eat here with us in the same way as it is done there! This means that you order a bunch of dishes which are then shared among everyone. We are more than happy to assist with recommendations on what should be eaten with what and how. It doesn’t need to be more complicated than that.

Have you heard of baijiu and Shaoxing? No?! Baijiu is the world’s best-selling spirit and an indispensable part of China’s food culture. Shaoxing is one of the world’s oldest alcoholic drinks and the ultimate complement to fish, seafood, and dumplings.
Surfers is the largest in Scandinavia in Chinese alcohol and offers an insight into a whole new world of alcohol through a tasting led by Northern Europe’s foremost expert on Chinese alcohol, Ludvig Sääf aka Mr. Baijiu.
At the Temple Bar, we offer you the experience of an authentic Kungfu-style tea ceremony. This is how tea is best experienced. At the tea table, we brew quickly, using a lot of leaves and infusing the same leaves multiple times. There’s a reason tea is the world’s most consumed beverage after water, and we will help you understand why.
Surfers is proud to serve the finest teas from China’s best tea plantations. From white, to green, oolong, black, and Puer.
The ceremony includes three different teas. Our recommendation is to brew green, oolong, and Puer tea. For any other requests, please contact us.
